CLIENT: PELDON VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE
COMPLETION DATE: TBC
The PVH committee tasked us with designing a new village hall to replace the existing building. this new hall was to be provided with improved facilities, including enlarged hall, kitchen, office and committee rooms. The building is to be sited in the same location and has been carefully designed in order to not block views of the adjacent church. The local planning authority were keen for the building to have a ‘barn’ like appearance with the PVH committee wanting little future maintenance. Planning was granted in August 2011 and the committee are now in the process of raising the funds in order to begin construction. The construction will be carried out under a design and build contract with DCB being the novated architect. The building will be provided with solar panelling on the roof to help with energy production and it will be heated using an air source heat pump.
