Client: Tendring District Scout Association
Contractor: True North Log Homes and PG Oxley
Completion date: ongoing
DCB were approached by Tendring District Scout Association in 2008 to gain planning and building regulations for a new scout hall in valley road Clacton on sea. The building was to be a log cabin which would be imported from Canada and would replace the current run down hall which the scouts had been using for many years. The scheme was final agreed and signed off by the Canadian company and planning permission was granted in 2009.
A building regulation application was made in 2010 but due to funding issues construction was not started until October 2011, the piled foundations were completed in November 2011 and the concrete floor construction installed and completed in January 2012. The logs arrived in February 2012 and True North completed their section of the works in March 2012, PG Oxleys then continued the construction and the building was watertight by August 2012. The client is now continuing with the fit out of the building.
