New Garden Room Extension to 17th Century Farmhouse, Langham.
The client wanted flexible accommodation to serve as a new entrance lobby, guest bedroom with shower-room and independently useable consultation room. The existing farmhouse is a lovely Essex timber-frame building (unlisted). We decided to make the extension appear different from the main building, largely glazed and flat-roofed; with different finish materials, but painted in the same colour, to form a complementary composition.
